Hello everyone, my name is Matthew and I make perfumes.
I'm from Vancouver, Canada and I'm very excited to learn more about oud from you!
I am excited to learn about making Indian attars and want to learn more about eastern perfumery!
Many people here are far more knowledgeable than myself when it comes to eastern perfumery, I feel so lucky to find Ouddict!
I make NON-IFRA approved perfumes (I use too much oak moss, birch tar, rose and jasmine)
I use natural musks
I use high quality essentials from eden botanicals (www.edenbonaticals.com)
I make all my perfumes - by hand in small batches
I make perfumes with the help of my wife in our small, one bedroom apartment.
I also love sharing my passion and my creative process with anyone who like to learn more about the craft.
I will post more videos of my process on ouddict.
If anyone needs help with making traditional French perfumes, especially musky chypre perfumes, then please feel free to contact me.
I am happy to help you. And I will not charge any fee to any member on ouddict. I only ask you to teach me about oud and eastern perfumery please!
Best regards to you,
Best in health and love.
This is a "Marine Bottle," I am working on.
Limited edition 30 bottles...
Still a work in progress. I still have to thing about how to decorate the cap.
This is my standard 30ml bottle.
Most of my perfumes retail for
$165 Canadian dollars, $120 USD or 95 Pounds Sterling.
This is a "wax seal," bottle.
I will be doing something special to them for Christmas
My current boxes are very simple, yet elegant.
When I have enough money saved up, I will definitely be getting myself some higher quality boxes!
My Golden Gai perfumes is:
1). real pipe tobacco
2). tinctured in Chambord French Liquor
I will be coming out with alcohol free attars early next year
On the left is Hyrax Tincture, on the right is Vanilla Bourbon pods tincture
Getting ready for Christmas, and New Years Hollidays. These are some trial photographs, which I will be finalizing and putting on my Etsy store.
To make gold labels do this;
print black labels on black paper using an ink jet TONER printer (a printer that uses a TONER cartridge)
use gold leaf, iron on gold leaf
iron the gold leaf on the ink jet paper
wherever the TONER is - the gold leaf will stick to the paper
you have gold leaf on black paper
*Then you need to find a way to waterproof the black paper, and add sticky glue, or double sided 3M tape to the back of the card stock!
These are my new 2ml tester bottles
This photo was taken a couple of years ago, while I was still learning the very basics of perfumery
May peace be upto you. Keep up the good work mate. I truly appreciate you sharing your art with us. I am no expert, just an admirer and I really admire what you are doing with naturals.
Some classic looking bottles and seals Matthew...great set up...considering its a one bed room apartment...all the more impressive....
Thanks so much Mustafa.
I use a lot of naturals, and I also use synthetics to support the natural materials.
My perfumes are mostly natural. The synthetics materials are used to make the perfumer more diffusive, and last longer.
I will never replace natural rose, or natural jasmine or natural musks with synthetics!
Thank you so much Mustafa,
God be with your also!
Be healthy my friend,
I really like your packaging and design.
keep up the great work Meleg!
Thank you so much!
