Some agarwood oil causes irritation of the nose and I believe this to be due to aldehydes or peroxides within the oil. As an experiment I added a solution of agmantine sulfate (An oderless amine: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agmatine) to paper and let it dry. I then put this paper within the cap of some agarwood oil I have and immediately noticed it removed some of the agarwood aroma. I also added a drop of Attar to this paper and a lot of it's smell vanished as well. I figure this could be a way to crudely test how reactive an oud oil is.
