Just began to use my recently arrived @Al Shareef Oudh Mysore sandalwood with a mixture of 3 musks. Kashmiri, Mongolian and Siberian in a rather nice Oudh Tola bottle.
Shall be a year in the making... alhamdulallah.

Best if you put them in a different bottle, DO. Have a look here.
I had checked it before hand and managed to clean off all material I felt would interfere with oil... Will check it again but there seems to be very little neck metal interacting and none at the bottom...but I will check it again..
Thank you brother..

"But he turned his love
into a sword
to break the seals
that hide the tomb
to cross the halls
beyond the mirrors of the soul"
These are very nice words....from a song?
Yes indeed! I write poems and stories and then put some into music. This is from one of my songs. Thanks!

So I have 15gms of Mysore sandalwood. Approximately 8 gms of a Mongolian Siberian and Kashmiri musk grains, along with some beautiful white scented ambergris.
I managed to get about 28gms into the 25gm Pyrex bottle.

Have not seen much in the way of kashmiri musk grains in a long time so congrats on the find!

Recently got some 75 year old Mysore sandalwood heartwood....it smells so thoroughly different from other Mysore oil. Deep woody fragrance. Completely unlike other I have sniffed.
I bought about 11 GM's and decanted one gram into a V vial with about 0.2 Mongolian musk added to see how this marriage goes. But the sandal can beautifully stand alone.

Ah it looks so wonderful. Beautiful colour to that liquid.
Tibetan Musk Pod Tincture: Today filtered this vintage one. Two months before added two tears of Royale Hojari, and now the aroma has so beautiful hint of Hojari in there.

Fragrance is strongly Tibetan musky with a little frankincense tone.

Do you lose much oil with the filter process?

Filtering I have never done. I usually use it with grains in.
Some maceration I have nearly two years and much of the grains have turned to a very fine dust like size in bottle. But would depend on how well grains have macerated into the oil.
Time takes its own time in this process...type of carrier oil....applying heat....shaking....but personally never done it.

I started this about a week ago. I put two very small glass swipes of very aged Patchouli in and the colour has gone a beautiful ruby red.... Compare the two.
