How to dry Siberian and Mongolian musk pods

In general, only a few methods of drying Siberian and Mongolian musk pods are common.
The first and most common method is deeply rooted in the past centuries and has been preserved to this day, this is the most correct method, it is actively used by hunters in Siberia.
A frame of sticks (most often willow or birch) is assembled, the frame is fastened with a thread or a thin wire, a pod is placed inside this frame and fixed, then the products are hung on a thread in a well-ventilated room (most often a shed or attic) until completely dry.

This method is the best, the pod is well weathered from all sides, drying is evenly ensured.
After drying, the pod can be wrapped in paper and stored.
The right pod will retain its properties after 100 years or more because musk grains are not susceptible to spoilage, and properly dried skin will not have a harmful effect on the musk grains.

The second method is when the pods are simply hung by a rope, the disadvantage of this method is that in this case the pods have an unusual shape and drying is carried out unevenly, so the time for drying is required more.
