Gyokushodo Vietnamese No. 423

Not bad at all,
but I still prefer No. 422
no contest.

OudBase's Sandalwood then followed by Olefaktory's Cultivated Kinam.
the sandalwood is heavenly. probably the best one I've smelt so far.
and the C.K. it's always a pleasure to burn this banger. I'm down to a few grams so I'd need to get some more of this.

Last night sampled the Sasora in the Yamada Rikkoku mini set. Interesting wood, I get the spicy part. This is a very woody experience. Would almost lean toward saying it’s Sandalwood except for the spicy touch. Maybe even a darker Sandalwod So far, this has been the easiest one to identify. Not like the others. Solid wood, enjoyable, nothing super special.

Tonight...Sumatora. Probably the best wood in the set by the way it looks—gorgeous. When I first started heating this wood, the familiar scent of Kyara began to permeate my entire space—that bitter, sour, lactic, impossible to describe scent. Wow. Smelled amazing. I was stopped in my tracks. BUT... now it has changed. Settled into a very nice experience, but smells “dry” and kind of rough, maybe slightly metallic even. Very clear how this could masquerade as Kyara. This is the most fun part of the experience. First 5-10 min I was ready to call this one of the best woods I’ve ever smelled and then it changed. ORS description of “the ninja” is so apt. Very interesting. You really should all try this some day.
