Today’s Mission,
to make my room smell heavenly...
started with AH Tawi Tawi
then a blend of Hindi Sidiq with Borneo
finished with Pinoy Privee.

Mission accomplished:Thumbsup:

EO Irian Sinking

Full resination which starts to liquify at medium to high heat.
I get a bitter herbal tar note, along with oud. Nice brain effects. Does not become unpleasant. Certain whiffs suggests fruit.

Followed with Habzoud Fili sinkers, and some Pinoy Privee.

Can someone let me know if it let's you watch this in 720p? I tried like 3 times but it keeps reverting back to 360 I think. Is there a way I can upload a video direct to the forum? I could upload 4k videos of wood burns that might be pretty cool to see!

I will check if there are limitations with resolution. There isn’t currently a way to embed videos to the forum, but we are working on an upgrade that will rely on that in future.

Tested out my new Shoyeido Kodutu heater, so broke out the kyara collection :) I bought the heater from Trent at Grandawood for around the same price as from the Shoyeido store in Kyoto - pretty happy about that!

Heated some Yamadamatsu SS grade Indonesian.
On very low I get pineapple, vanilla, oud,
and green palm leaf,
then with higher heat,
some cream,
then higher again,
earth and incense,
it’s at this point that the resin starts to liquefy,
then higher again,
oudy smoke,
there’s a nice aura of aroma.

Next.....powdered Indain Sandalwood.

Next....Pinoy Privee

yessssssssssssssss

Yamada matsu SA sinking aloeswood granules from 2001 (these are of a Borneo / malinau profile and are truly excellent) mixed with baieido sandalwood granules from the early 2000’s. This is just the most dignified smell I can imagine. Clean, dry, woody, warm... I lack appropriate adjectives but to me personally a profoundly calming and dignified scent.

Burning this mystery oud. Big chunk from an old Chinese herb shop in the Bay Area. Very dense sinking wood... when heated a huge amount of resin comes out. Like a puddle - if I move the piece after a few minutes on the subitism it leaves a pool of resin in the shape of the chip. If I have time I’ll upload some pics later. The origin is unknown, to me I get notes of mint, sweet oud, vanilla, honey and a little bit of musky funk in there... if I had to guess I would say Malaysia or maybe Borneo. I got a really large (for me) log piece of this about 5” long and 2.5” diameter. I got it early in my journey and for better or for worse I broke it down, separating the truly darkest material from the rest and cutting into chunks following the grain so that nice uniform slabs can be split off the ends. Probably worth a ton in its original intact form and considerably less now. I might make a rough-hewn type bracelet or two from the nuggets. They are all fully resinated, dense, and fragrant at room temperature. I’ve attached a pic of some of the nuggets. That’s about 1/3 of the log there. Wish I knew its origin.

That looks so unbelievable. I wish I had a collection piece like that. Would you mind sharing what you paid for it and what it weighs?
