Oh no... I have a stalker.
This was a while back but they are as different from one another as one oil can be from the other. While 2004 starts slow and quiet and erupts into a blissful blast of yellow sunshine and berries from sinking grade wood the 2016 is basically a yellow/purple hot shot of purple and yellow off the top that drys down into a much louder and less refined version of its closest relative scent wise : borneo 50k. This is basically a rougher b50k in need of some ageing after maybe another 5 years this oil will be on par wirh many of the legends and will easily go fkr several grand IMHO...maybe one of the few recent non oriscent or legend distillations that will command such prices along side oud Ertugrul.
I was actually thinking about revisiting Ertugruk whole it’s still available. Do you think it’s better than B3K 2016 overall?
it's different. The quality of Ertugrul is certainly a bit higher...and has more ot a purple kinam meets malinau vibe going on.
I think with some more ageing though that b3k16 will.be on par with or just behind b50k. Its hard because I REALLY like the scent of b3k and given ots namesake I'm sure it will command am insurmountable amount of $ come 5 years or so.
