Ambergris tincture questions

Question, Does Ambergris need to be filtered out after 6 months? I ask because my ambergris of 4 months doesn’t have a really strong smell even dark is tame. I might be at fault as they are 10% dilutions but wax does contribute to smells being dull I was told.

I decided that I will just throw my ambergris tincture in to my perfume to further extract and after the intended duration freeze it and filter out any all waxes! It is really waxy atm, it’s emollient in a good way that it helps the skin retain the scent so I’m actually going to use just a little bit as an experiment to see
