Oud Beginner
✋Here we display 2 kinds of oud under the earth.
—🇮🇩A is Maraokay yellow soil oud
—🇵🇭B is Filipino Lyete red soil oud
👉The correct name for them is “soil oud” but some people will call them “dead oud”(oud from dead tree). Actually the oud harvested under the earth it can be from live trees or dead trees.
✅The “soil oud” is believed to be a perfect oud to put on charcoal in Japan China and Taiwan because they think the wood fibers was dissolved by the nature after many years buried under the earth,so the smell turn out to be more clear without any wood burning smell, kind of like coffee or tea fermented will have a better smell. The “soil oud” always same color like the earth in the region. The most famous “soil oud” is “Vietnam fusen soil oud” which has the second highest price just next to kinam in Asian counties. Filipino Lyete red soil oud nowadays are selling as Vietnam fusen red in Asian counties, the reason is same oud dealer like the call other kinds of oud as Cambodia or Indian oud, I guess everybody know the reason.
🧐 When we put this 2 kinds of oud together to compare we can see Maraokay is obvious more similar to yellow and Filipino is more similar to red (similar color to Vietnam ). The smell of them is very big different and price also big different so when you purchase the oud need to be careful
