Burning some Bhutanese Kaar Sur Poe sticks today.

This lists cereal as an ingredient. There’s some soft fruity sweetness behind a strong juniper meets sandalwood meets spice accord. A grain like texture brings out an almost “Cheerios” like note that I really enjoy. This one is incredibly pungent yet mild in comparison to the strong earthy qualities of similar Bhutanese/Tibetan monasteries.

I’m starting to understand this kind of incense finally and it’s wonderful for grounding and meditation. The scent isn’t so much for enjoyment as it is for purification of your space. Burning this outdoors is ideal but a little 1/4” piece works wonders in a small studio.

Hey experienced peoples --- insight requested please ...

My only Bakhoor experience is from Swiss Arabian
much like my oud Journey ---- am I also completely STILL un experienced in Bakhoor since I have only experienced Swiss Arabian's products?

Oh I take that back there was one from Amazon that went quick into the trash.
I could burn a dried stick from any tree outside and receive less offensive headache inducing madness...
It was one of the Nasaem products

Hi Brother, I would first want to understand what type of scents really attract you. We need to know you more and your preferences. As my dear brother Taesik pointed out, there are couple of amazing bakhoor from AL Shareef.

@Mustafa Thank you Thank you , the middle eastern vibe does me well perhaps a bit of the Indian influence also ...
as in ya know how Indian women perfume their hair and clothes that is what I'm talking about generally Oudh and Oudh variants
I guess what I'm asking is are products like SWISS ARABIAN'S OUD AL ARAIS BAKHOOR even close to the real deal or am I completely clueless, about REAL BAKHOOR. BTW AL Shareef only has ONE available at the moment I believe "MULOUK "

15 gram / $105 USD Woah bro reign that in a little bit ! $$$$

You may find yourself needing to adjust the budget lol - for high quality wares, you kinda have to pay a premium.

Real oud is expensive. Real agarwood is expensive. Unfortunately no way around that. I've found it's better to spend more once than spend a little many times on stuff you end up throwing out. With high quality, you'll use less and be happier with it. Just my 2c.

Again , I humbly respect that and assuredly understand, I haven't even begun the quest to burn agarwood directly I will have to properly research a Sub burner and all that fun so yes that is almost a given $$ however --->
"Bakhoor" perhaps its just my ignorance ---> I guess what I'm asking is are products like SWISS ARABIAN'S OUD AL ARAIS BAKHOOR even close to the real deal or am I completely clueless, about REAL BAKHOOR. These things from Swiss Arabian are squares not perfumed wood chips . I also have Muattar Mumtaz from Swiss arabian these ARE perfumed chips ( doubt its agarwood) so again my question ( respectfully if anyone knows these products ) are products like these even close to the real deal or am I completely clueless, about REAL BAKHOOR? Thanks everyone have a great week.

They’re the absolute lowest quality on the mainstream market. It doesn’t mean it will smell bad but chances are pretty high you’re getting adultered, cheap materials filled with synthetics and whatever other garbage floats around in that price bracket. Does it mean everything is adultered? Not necessarily but since this is an artisanal oud forum most of what will be recommended is the highest quality on the market. Be prepared to have mid tier and higher suggestions thrown your way.

Yes - all of the brands you've mentioned are gunna be really low level stuff.

Id say that most folks on here are more interested in pure agarwood vs bakhoor burning but there's a whole section of folks who are really interested in incense sticks and bakhoor does sometimes fall into that category.

If you are looking into a subutism, check out some of the reviews of mine! Happy to make you one. Ouddles is my vendor profile on here

Hey there,

you could try some Kobunboku, Tohusen Kobunboku and Kaden Kobunboku incense sticks by Baieido that are allegedly very good and affordable to boot. There are also some more affordable agarwood chips by Baieido called Kokonoe-no-kumo but I would refer to other users here, like: @Mr.P, @Taesik Yun and many others who have a lot more experience.

Regards
