Has anyone tried Hellicum? I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on this Attar. It looks promising and challenging from the notes!

Mellifluence Perfume - Useera
The first thing that comes to my mind when I smelled Useera from the bottle is 'Green'. it has so clean and pristine ozone like quality and it immediately tranquilized me.
On my skin, Useera opens up with this green note and I can name a few though, I couldn't discern the ingredients of this green note because it's so well blended. this green note is light and uplifting, it smells like an air of grass field in high altitude, say Alps mountain. however, it's a bit too intensely green and lacks diversity to my nose. I wish it has more of clean breeze like quality.
As it dries down, it starts gives off a sweet honey note and profound woody note. the transition is very subtle, it's almost unnoticeable. this sweet honey note that comes from Sarawak oud and Thai oud is enhanced with creamy Mysore sandalwood, makes the whole experience more soothing.
Useera lasts about 6 hours and the projection is a bit low, I had to get my nose close to my wrist to smell it. I recommend using Useera in summer and to those who love cucumber and very green fragrance.
To me, Useera feels more like an aromatherapy oil than a perfume oil.
I do have a small sample vial of it. I'll post a review of it soon.
Mellifluence Perfume - Hellicum
A classy slim fit black suit and slick derby shoes. neatly pulled back hair. shiny Patek Philippe watch. it seems like everything is perfect. but something is missing. you need something that elevates your confidence and helps you stand out without being too narcissistic.
Hellicum fulfills that need.
Hellicum is made with a warm spicy black pepper as the main note. and too much pepper can easily offending others or eat up other notes but it's used just right dose in this composition. along with pepper, lavender, patchouli, tobacco, the usual classic scent trio for gentleman makes this composition more masculine. but there's more too it. a heavy dose of animalic, yet instinctively attractive civet and musk draws attention. it brings out underlying wild beauty in you.
As the fragrance develops, spicy pepper evaporates first then sweet, a little bit sticky vanilla comes out and Laos oud, Indian sandalwood complements it with their smooth sweetness. this base note feels intimate and attractive but it's pretty quiet so only a close person can smell it.
Helliclum's peppery opening lasts for about 4 hours and the base note lasts more than 3 hours. this is not you'd wear every day. but for the right mood and occasion, this will be the one you'd reach for without a second thought. be careful to use it though. too much applying can offend others due to spicy pepper.
Hellicum is quite different than Abdullah, the nose behind this blend's usual style. it feels more like a composition from a designer perfume house such as Dior but obviously made with higher quality and all-natural ingredients. and initially, you might confuse that Hellicum is a complex fragrance because of conflicting properties of ingredients. but you'll notice that's not the case if you carefully observe it.

Mellifluence Perfume - Alpenglow
Disclaimer: I can't/won't compare Alpenglow with the Guerlain L'HEURE BLEUE.
Alpenglow is an unreleased attar based on Guerlain L'HEURE BLEUE. what if a purple color has the smell, would it smell like this? a purple accord composed with violet, lavender, and iris blooms and supporting florals makes dreamy powdery mist. lightly added musky civet and warm rosewood arguments with chili purple accord without makes the composition lukewarm. each element harmoniously choirs classic french perfumery's beauty that people have forgotten.
This mysterious, melancholic top note makes wearer introspective and calm. as fragrance further develops, powderiness fully blooms rule the stage. however, it takes too much space and overwhelms other delicate nuances like a conceited egoist. but somehow benzoin and vanilla seamlessly appear and change the melancholic mood into a romantic mood.
Like a woman who removed her makeup, powderiness softens up and reveals its true face. mesmerizing sweet, soft skin scent made out of oud and sandalwood seduces close person.
To my nose, Alpenglow is a well-restored classic french perfume. it has a bit too much powder element in the modern perfume perspective and it can be a love or hate.
it leans more toward the feminine side and only a few selected people would suit to wear it on a rainy night or cold weather. I love the opening and end but the powder in the middle is a bit too much to my nose and felt like it lost balance. Apenglow is an artistic blend that quite hard to appeal to others. at least in modern days. it's more enjoyable alone at bedtime.
Alpenglow has an excellent projection and about 7hours of longevity.
It's sad because I believe Alpenglow has the potential to be better.

Mellifluence Perfume - Placensia
In Placensia, tobacco leads the whole composition from start to end. this tobacco is so authentic, though I've never smelt cigar before, it conjures up the image of smelling high-quality cigars from the box. it has this warm, cozy smell that makes me just want to lay down and relax. this tobacco note is unlike other tobacco notes I've experienced before because I usually find tobacco a bit too harsh to my nose. that's not the case in Placensia. it has this chocolatey, vanillic tone that is so smooth and profound. and Abdullah added other ingredients to further enhance this tobacco note. the first thing I noticed was obviously vanilla and tonka bean. those two ingredients make this composition more sweet and sticky. and the other thing is vetiver. vetiver? you might ask but it adds conflicting but harmonious aspects with its cool earthy fragrance. there are many other ingredients here but I couldn't discern individual ingredients because it's really well blended together.
To me, Placensia is an attar I'd wear for myself when I want to relax at home. I had more than 8 hours of long, deeply satisfying time just smelling this attar. it smells like edible tobacco to my nose and it's such a joy to wear this attar.

I was hoping Hellicum would’ve been like Plasencia but now I’m bummed that I don’t own more than a sample of Plasencia anymore. If anyone has some for sale I’ll gladly buy some! I bought Hellicum thinking it would be tobacco forward but the lavender was too strong for my tastes. Now that Plasencia is sold out I’m kicking myself in the butt for not buying a full bottle! That cigar/pipe tobacco/Oud base is probably one of my favorite tobacco Attars I’ve ever smelled.

Helicum is not my liking too. and Placensia is a really great pipe tobacco attar. those who grabbed bottle of it is really are lucky ones.
@Castingshadows you might love Sicilian Vanilla Attar by Rising Pheonix Perfumery . I'm planning to try it later.

Brother I was let down by Sicilian Vanilla. It straight up smells like a cream cheese pastry right out of the oven. No tobacco. It’s gourmand and smells waaaay too sweet. Whatever current version Rising Phoenix put out sadly is missing any pipe tobacco. It’s an excellent gourmand and maybe one of the best out there in Attar format. But as a pipe tobacco scent it fails to capture any essence of tobacco at all. Pure pastry’s right out of the oven.
Oh, I'm sorry that you didn't like it. Gourmand. Hmm. I heard some people it smells more like a sweet than tobacco.

I heard the same and the person who gave me the sample said the same as well. When I told him where’s the tobacco all I get is a puff pastry he was surprised I smelled the same exact notes.
this is for newest 2020 version. A new tobacco was used and unfortunately it’s just a pure gourmand. Get a sample if you can because I’d love to hear your thoughts brother!

Mellifluence Perfume - Spirit of Naarda Ⅱ
One whiff. that's all you need to fall in love with Spirit of Naarda. one of the most breathtakingly beautiful lavender fragrance makes close your eyes and stops all thinking. ah- tranquility, it is.
let it be. enjoy it as is without trying to analyze it.
I couldn't write this review while wearing SoN because I kept losing my focus. SoN left me an unforgettable memory and I'll just ramble what I felt here.
As if light rain drizzled in the morning, icy cold lavender welcomes you from the opening. ah, what a beautiful lavender it is. intoxicating, hypnotic, heavenly lavender. this is without a doubt the best smelling lavender I've ever smelt. I've never thought lavender could be this beautiful. how...? it smells even better than the smell of a lavender garden. along with this beautiful lavender, violet and other floral notes compliment lavender without being too noticeable.
As the scent develops, some leathery aspects seamlessly lurk in and add more complexity to the composition. yet still, lavender leads. lavender eventually settles down overtime and medicinal, slightly sweet creamy base note elegantly bid farewell.
Projection SoN is excellent and the longevity is good enough. it lasted about 4 hours on my skin. I like about an hour lasting opening the most. I'd wear SoN in any season, any occasion.
Mellifluence Perfume - Al Ghaliyat 3
On the skin, Al Ghaliyat 3 opens up with a heavy dose of sweet musk and heartwarming civet, musky rose, and a lot more. the opening is grand and blooms like a bouquet. soon after application, breathtakingly beautiful ambergris comes out pretty quickly and reveals its multi-dimensional oceanic fragrance. harmony of musk, civet, ambergris conjures up the most seductive animalic fragrance.
At this point, Al Ghaliyat 3 brings out every ingredient at the same time. it has this unusual base heavy scent pyramid.
Gorgeous. Hypnotic. Soothing. that's how I'd describe the smell of Al Ghaliyat 3. this oil is for personal enjoyment as it has a pretty weak projection. but instead of a weak projection, it has strong tenacity and strength. just a little dap of this oil lasts more than 8 hours.
It is beautiful attar but it doesn't have something that hooks me. something about it is not enough for me. I feel like it's incomplete. maybe it needs more time to age.

This Attar sings to me brother! I love how simple it feels and at the same time still has a depth to it that keeps me interested.
When I wear this it feels like the Ashram I attend during festivals on auspicious days of the year. Rose, musk, floral garlands, sweet ambery incense and sandalwood.
I feel like if I didn’t make the connection with the Ashram it wouldn’t be as interesting as you’ve stated. It’s beautiful and exactly what I was hoping for because it’s discreet and is perfect for meditation.
I will say though I wish I got more of the ambergris in the mid and drydown. I pulled it out recently and the musk was on hyperdrive after a few months of maceration.
For sure this one is quite simple compared to Abdullah's other creation. ambergris is enough for me but I wish it has more musk.
Mellifluence Perfume - Sandal Rose 2
From the opening, the aroma feels up the lungs with a clean, cooling, fresh wind that carries the fragrance of dewy rose and jasmine bushes midst of light rain. the sweetness of frangipani and raspberry undercurrent adds lovely quality under this wet layer. this luscious opening immediately quiet thoughts and gives a feeling of serene.
The wet due-like note made of Oarweed Absolute and Valencene Isolate is just fantastic, I think it would be great on any other aquatic blends as well.
As the fragrance develops, powdery ambrette and seductive musk come out and continues this beautiful choir. the wet layer peels off over time and seductive Pink oud(lotus infused oud distilled by Russian Adam) encroaches. this already perfume-like oud blends with Mysore sandalwood and leaves a pink trail.
Sandal Rose 2 is one of the most alluring attars I've ever experienced and it is hands down my top 5 favorites without a shadow of a doubt.
I think it would bloom wonderfully in a rainy day, setting a romantic mood. the projection is about two feet which is pretty decent and it lasts about 7 hours.
Having only about 0.3ml of this oil makes me depressed. I hope Abdullah makes a 3rd version or imperial version of this blend.
