Dear Rai - what kind of ambergris did you use?
Dear Grega, mostly I use grey ambergris. If at all I use white, I mix grey with that.

Have you tried Seshen by any chance?

I had a conversation with and i remeber he mentioned he still has alot of the materials left he used to make Seshen, so a batch 2 will be made soon I guess

Thats cool.I managed to buy a bottle before he ran out, and find the scent very difficult to analyse from my initial wearings indoors.

Although it is said to contain 2 types of musks, the fume is a very ethereal icy, cold whisper of a scent. I was expecting something along the likes of tsuga musk but after the opening cold notes of blue lotus and pine, it quickly becomes a very personal linear scent.
I haven't really worn it outdoors in the warm weather though, so will have to see how it performs then.

I have a feeling this needs time to mature a good few months before its able showcase a wider array of notes.

I feel time is always key with complex blends needing time to bond , I feel the same with his new ghaliyah i compare it to elixer ghaliyah bulgare fleuri they are similar but the notes in elixers just feels much more rounded and refined and aged, im curious to see with time how this one develops.. Have you tried Plasencia. Its nice

Nope, I've only been able to try a few so far. They are : warm amber, oriental rose, sajaro imperial, purple leather, laith 3, asiya, tsuga musk 2 and Paredolia.
Aside from Laith, which I just couldn't get along with (reminded me of BBQ'd meat/sauce), they all smell quite wonderful, inoffensive and pleasant enough to wear in public.

Ensar's EO No 2 EDP. This is my first full-bottle purchase of a spray perfume, and this stuff is fantastic. It got a bad rap upon it's release, often decried as "simple" or "linear," but to me it's strong in an understated and classy way. The spicy cumin, coriander, and pink pepper do wonders for the musk, making it feel exotic and alluring. I think I may have found a signature scent.

How strong is the musk note coming through and what is the profile like i.e animalic/urinous/ sweet?

The musk note comes through fairly strong, more and more as the opening florals dry down. I haven't experienced other spray perfumes featuring the musk, but I have worn several attars (mellifluence Zabad, ASO Samarqand, EO Sultan Rose Attar, Olde Hind Attar.) Compared to those, EO No. 2 certainly a less-sweet musk note, and it is slightly urinous. Animalic, yes, but refined rather than skanky. I think Ensar's master stroke is using the woods and spices to support and transform the musk note, rather than distract from or overpower it.

I should mention, I bought this bottle after sampling all four EDPs. Tigerlust was my 2nd favorite, but ultimately the other three led to fatigue as they dried down too sweet and heady. EO No. 2 actually feels somehow mild and perhaps even healthy.

Oh nice, sounds promising.Have yet to try Ensar's Perfumes, but based on the type of frags I like (heavy orientals) will probably wait till the cooler months before I do so.

Thank you for your thoughts!
