Depends on the value of the purchase, if it’s a $700 purchase, absolutely! If purchase amount is lower, even then having the option atleast is nice...

Another option is for vendors to build it into their margins and increase your price, and to the customer it will appear they are paying only $30 or $40 for that quick option...whatever the vendor figured out their customers are willing to pay...
After all we are talking about purely “luxury” goods here, which are often impulsive purchases...lol... and in some cases nearly impossible to replace goods...i find the faster options tend to be more secure as well, and even customs processes are expedited... I know for sure that in Canada the “priority” and courier company packages are quicker through customs..
For an impulsive purchase which is not a necessity, I think timing is truly of the essence.
Like with EO...I’m sure when they do free shipping for $500 USD or over orders, they have built it into their margins...and it works... end of the day, since becoming an “ouddict” most of my $$$ went to EO, atleast to some extent, because of their shipping policy.
They have obviously figured out a cost effective way (for them atleast) and priced accordingly to make sure the customer gets the product as fast as possible in a reliable way...while allowing them to still rely on the “excitement” etc. of customers to get repeat business... perhaps a psychologist / psychiatrist could chime in...:Roflmao::Geek::Thumbsdown:
Well said. Agreed.

I have been paying $60 to $ 70 even for some samples. The reason: If an ordinary postal services is opted, the package doesn't reach intact. It is always badly treated and opened. Sometimes, vials or bottles get damaged. Or at least, some doubts creep into mind. Above all, DHL, TNT,or FedEx always makes a call about the arrival of the package. The company itself gets the package cleared from the Customs Department. So, I always prefer paying dollars rather than traveling 350 kilometers to appear in front of the customs officer, and make him realize the vials, by God, have perfume oils. Nothing else. You are very much right to say that the vendors who provide the customers with quick courier service, they are preferred. Especially nowadays when top notch vendors ship through DHL and at $ 25 to $ 30, why one go for some vendors who ship through some snail mail sort of postal service. EO is the best in this connection. IO has recently introduced TNT/ FedEx that suits me a lot. AA facilitated me a lot and never charged shipment expenditures. I am obliged. FO once charged $ 50 to $ 60 even from Thailand. Now I cannot say anything about the charges.

To have the package within three days is also important, but to avoid unnecessary delay and being perpetually unaware about the package are more than troublesome. For example, the package shipped through Royal Mail or Canadian Mail, if tracking number is also there, just tells that the package is in transit, AND THAT'S ALL. Even now I have been waiting for three packages for the last three weeks. And waiting for an official letter that would definitely read 'Mr Rai Munir, do come to the General Post Office to get your parcel cleared'.

Putting aside mode of shipment, I am happy that majority of our respected vendors accepted my request to accept the payment through Western Union. So, waiting for a month is nothing, but, you know, curiosity to know has no bounds and no reason can extinguish that.

Appreciate your understanding!
I agree, over multiple purchases shipping certainly does add up.

LoL! Agreed! However where satisfying an impulse & $$$ is concerned, patience is out the window...:Roflmao:

Brother, you defended me because you understood that what i said is also in the best interest of the vendor!

i defended Ensar ! :Roflmao:

I side with not needing priority mail, from abroad at least. Packages from the US take a week, maybe 2. I will say that EO's shipping is really impressive, but it's costly. For close to £20 for a small box of samples, that in the UK would cost £2.90 and arrive in the 3 days, it's expensive. But, they arrive in 2-3 days, so cannot complain about that, when an equivalent package from India takes ~2weeks. Actually...thinking about the cost vs. other vendors, it's slightly more expensive (maybe £4 more) but actually 3-4x faster. So (bit of free thinking as I type this) it's good in comparison.

But I don't see my purchcses as a necessity - it's not like I NEED them so am happy to wait. I found one vendor in the UK where I could only use "special delivery" which is £8 as opposed to ~£3 or so. However Imperial Oud charged £4 for standard shipping which is fair, but on every order I've placed, they have actually upgraded my shipping to the special delivery. Very nice of them.
In summary I'd rather the cheaper option 99% of the time, especially when it's samples, a very light package under 100g. I was glad that Ensar's "EO no 1", a 50ml bottle made of glass cost the same to ship - that felt more "worth the money" vs a small box of samples.

@PEARL You sir completely get my point!

i defended Ensar ! :Roflmao:

Rightly so! They have this business sorted and understand their customer. I have absolutely no complaints as a customer.

@Sproaty So you didn’t fall for their “free shipping.” Just add one more item to cart thing.:Roflmao: Really easy to hit the $500 with them, and hard to go wrong with most of what they have to offer, specially when they have a “sale” going...

I know :( Was 5 weeks without a purchase, and my credit card bill will be due in a few days, but it's half the total of June's bill (which was half of May's bill, and I always pay them off in full) - so I thought I'd treat myself a little. Well, more than a little :Roflmao::Roflmao:
