I am a 22 year old Law student whom Allah introduced to Oud some two years ago.
I am deeply interested in Spirituality and the ethereal.
Honestly, I've known Oud from a long time as I would usually brush aside someone with a Oud attar on them in the Mosques or in the shrines of the Awliya or Walis where they burn oud in the form of incense sticks -- although nothing but concoctions.
However, my first sacred experience came some two years ago where I inhaled a most probably Oud Mukhallat in a local attar shop which revealed to me the depth in the scent of this substance. Since then I've swiftly progressed to the purer experience of unadulterated oud oils --Yes that's what Oud Mukhallats are, adulteration.
And so here I am.
Tracing my origins from Karnataka and also being the grandson of an RFO (Range Forest Officer) who was charged with the duty of protecting and safeguarding Mysore Sandal trees in Karnataka (then Mysore) among other things. I have had the good opportunity of smelling some brilliant sandal wood which I found in the belongings left behind by my Grand father.
I also have some Beautifully hand chiseled Mysore sandalwood artifacts which I have de facto inherited from my grandfather. I am willing to trade them and I couldn't find a section where Sandal wood related products could be sold. So hope it doesn't offend any forum rules if I post some pictures here.
Welcome Louis. Always good to see more fellow Americans reppin the Oud game. Wish you a fragrant journey.Hello!
My name is Louis, I'm new here but excited to get to know this comunity. I'm a born-and-raised native of New York City, a drummer/pianist/composer, and an attorney with my own practice in the field of mental health and hygiene law.
I am, in fact, utterly uninitiated when it comes to artisinal perfumes, but I have become rapidly fascinated with oud in particular and am even awiting my first delivery today! I am going to go ahead and write a post detailing my first experience with oud for you all to enjoy, but for now, hello!
I have shipments from Ensar, Imperial Oud, and Rising Pheonix on the way. More details to come . . .

Hello, from NorCal! I thought it was time I joined yet another forum for yet another one of my "addictions," er, creative outlets and passions. I am a longtime fraghead. I've been a collector of niche, bespoke, botanical, and indie perfume for 15 years. I have amassed a nice collection over the years. I also started studying botanical perfumery 3.5 years ago and even did an experiential component for an independent undergrad study on aromachology and its affect on the psyche and human experience. Needless to say, I am obsessed with scent and perfumes, especially botanical, raw and natural aromatics. I work with some amazing materials on a daily basis. It really is a special vocation. I took interest in artisanal oud when I set out to create an oud tincture for a perfume blend and happened upon Ensar's oud resin that I am happily tincturing away at the moment. I have spent a pretty penny on some truly great treasures. Magical they are. I am expecting a few orders from EO and AA in the coming days. I am like a kid on holiday every time I receive my gorgeous oud oils.
Welcome Oudian. I'm sure your journey will be one of experiences unlike any other. Do check out the Oud Fayre fliers and see if you can make it out to Vegas on Oct 27-28.
