Khus (Musa Nagar): The best ever for the scorching summer. This emerald-y Khus has spent seven years with me. Therefore, undulant grace is there in its notes. Well, I clearly am getting Sri Lankan and Hainan delicate aroma.

Hope someday I will concoct Khus, Hainan Oud and most probably Ceylon sandal.

@peter4ptv i would say its similar to @Rai Munir in colour light brown with a greenish tint, the green not bright or obvious. It is not very thick but also not very runny. I think this would blend so well in so many different ways maybe time to get experimenting :Cooler:
thanks for the info @Habz786 to try it and compare to the Haitian will go with the one from our friend Zak offerings @Bengal Roots

wow that was lighting fast delivery, thank you very much for the free gifts.
well this vetiver cannot be compared to the Haitian at all, night and day difference, if somebody blindfolded me and let me smelled i may say that it smells like pure Indonesian oud. also very potent just by opening the top the aroma smack me in the face i have rarely experience any oud so strong.
by the way Zak, what is the unmarked sample?smelling from the dipstick it has very nice delicious sweet barn type that i cannot recall smelling anything like before.

oh yes, definitely way above the Haitian i am not familiar with the south Indian so cannot comment on it.
Haitian is a nice essential oil, but Zak's vetiver is a total different animal.
for me is on the level of Oud and Musk, even above sandalwood.
Thats quite nice to hear. I am carrying my Ruh Khus with me too. On a trip to the indian ocean. The complexity of North Indian Khus boggles my mind. The intense green opening ending into sweet bliss. It ia gorgeous.

Imagine the Khus blended with oud and musk:Whistling:
Probably the result will come close to ASO Qandahaar II LOL!
Khus is a quite different phenomenon. Its extreme viscosity and extreme scent (Uni-scent/dimensional oil) and nature never let me macerate Musk grains in it. I have been wearing Khus for decades. I am quite familiar with its nature. I feel Musk won’t do in it. If somebody has done so, it will be a great accomplishment. Please share, or guide me to do so. The Khus I have is pretty aged, thus smooth and mature scent it has developed. Eight years before this Khus was loud and banging.

For me, a blend of Khus, Hainan or Srilankan Oud oils and a few drops of rose otto would rock.

Well, a couple of days before I macerated Tigerwood 95 and Kashmiri Musk grains. After 24 hours, the Musk had dominated. I was skeptical about this maceration, but it worked well. In November, Insha-Allah I will request Faheem Bhai to give his expert opinion.

Due to recently got allergy from certain Oud oils, I am inclined towards macerating or blending oils. Kashmiri Musk I have and more I will get in future. So, I will definitely macerate Musk in different blends as well.

Kashmiri Musk won’t let one smell anything else. It is the Titan of Fragrances.

Does anyone here know where I could buy good pure vetiver essential oil? Perfumer grade, suitable for blending. Haitian or Indian. Seller must ship to Europe. And preferably with inexpensive delivery. :) I’ve been looking for a trusted and afordable source since a while. There are plenty of inexpensive vetiver oils on ebay but I’m afraid of their quality... Small quanity, 1-3 ml.

I can't recommend Hermitage Oils enough. They have a vetiver sample set. The only problem is they have a minimum spend of €75 per order. But if you look at their offerings you'll probably won't have problem with it. :D

That’s the thing. ;) I wouldn’t like to spend more than $20.
