To be honest TW95 is a great oil for the price. What if he decided to sell the remaining batch for some reason! lot of vendors do...

Akhi Mandeel. Why would you want to do that? This is cheating and whoever does this will have to answer to the one above. If you don't trust a vendor then don't buy from him. Thats all! All these ideas of changing the dates is irrelevant and does not need to be mentioned. TR is a fabulous oil and I got the chance to buy 2.

Can we all move on from this? Tigerwood 95 is a decent oil at the price point. Personally I think that this forum has had something to do with that price and the price of Archipelago and that is a good thing all around. Ensar increases his sales and people get a decent honest Oud at a great price.

How would ouddicts feel if they were sold an oil marketed as a certain type of unique oil from a custom distillation by a artisan and sold for hundreds of dollars then you find out its a normal oil sold at around 150$ a tola from the distiller who sends you the same oil to prove the point. Not a very happy bunny tonight this Oud scene is not as it seems at times and i wont say anything more.

Not surprising at all... I am sure I will be very depressed if I come across equivalent oils as you have mentioned in your post... So far I don't have any direct contacts... but if you have found something as you have explained then it must be a terrible feeling.

Deciding what Oud to buy is a Very Difficult task for me. I have to deal with my changing tastes, my age and financial situation, what I have in my collection versus what I don't, old oil young oil, top notes basenotes, barnyard no barn, cheap oil expensive oil, wild wood plantation wood, simple oil complex oil.
And then after I make the purchase, is this the right oil or not, keeper or not, favorite or not, daily wear occasional wear, sell a little keep it all, review it no review, get another or even more, use it now let it age......
At least participating in the forums helps a lot, it's too much for one person to handle, help from others goes a long way:)

My theory is that 90% of my collection is like this... that's why I've been trying to buy stuff directly via distillers. But it's not always easy.

Like the oils I got from @riviera274. .. I'm quite sure they would easily sell for the price I got them for + 400$. Just need a nice story and people who trust it that's it. The Oud market is already set on the mentality " higher price = better oud".. which isn't always the case.

Sometime i think: ok I know I'm getting "fooled" but who cares and what can I do. I can't get this somewhere else yet. I don't know the right people.

Just like when I buy a perfume... I'm paying for maybe 80% alcohol and 20% synthetics hahaha. But if I really like it I try to not think too much :')

    Haha great post @Oudamberlove

I'd be disgusted. One of the main reasons we buy at a premium from the well known vendors is trust. I'd give them a chance to explain themselves before any further action

[/ QUOTE]
    salut
If are you sure, you must tell us who is the vendor , and the distillater if you want

I will not publicly name the vendor or the oil as i'm not here to taint reputations or people's livelihood, also the vendor is not on the forum to try and defend themselves (which will be another story). I was very frustrated as anyone would be when seeing the same people trying to justify high prices for Oud yet selling at x8 the cost price! If that wasn't bad enough the story was exactly that a story. Those who trust me can take my word for it and those who don't can do the opposite. Sorry if this response is disappointing but i'm not here to cause a feud which is what it would lead to and i'm sure you can respect my choice. There are members who have also smelt the oils and confirmed they are the same, some have even spoken to the distiller. However we decided to remain silent due to the implications of speaking out. The marketing story was just that a story and the oil was a normal distillation from the distiller. I'm sure the vendor will figure out who they are and privately contact me to discuss this matter.

Wise decision @Habz786, we should not forget that there are not only sellers, but sometimes wives and kids behind sellers.

On another side brother @Tarik, the good behaviour is to not talk without evidences and you are right talking about hasn dhonn.

More generaly and behind the lines it means : stop talking about bad cops division.

Regarding my behaviour with a seller in particulary, it has nothing to do with his products (excepted the ki nam matter) it has to do with the behaviour.

Actualy I'm preparing an answer point per point.

I don't think other members smelling the oils is much proof, I only trust my own nose and the noses of a handful of others. Would GCMS testing show the oils to be identical? If so that may be the best thing to do here.

But you haven't remained silent, have you? You made the claim publicly but haven't elaborated. This risks planting seeds of distrust and suspicion in member's and other people's minds.

    Hello John !
Nose and GCMS couldnt be a proof.

You take oil freshly distilled, divide it in 2 lots, apply different curing and aging technics and job is done. :D
