Hello and very happy to be able to post at last (i thought it was my old ipad and macbook that was incompatable with the forum software but it was a captcha glitch i think)
Im in the UK, not far from London and first discovered pure agarwood 3 years ago when sourcing pure natural attars and raw materials for natural perfumery.
I am equally in love with wearing the oil and heating the wood.
    I also have a sandalwood obsession. :)
I found ouddict when looking for images of old agarwood in the vain hope of trying to identify an small 200g antique log i inherited that i'd always assumed was a natural ornament or exotic souvenier of some kind. Then a few weeks ago while heating a small piece of papua and enjoying the fumes, it suddenly popped into my mind that said wood might be a fragrant burnable even if its not agarwood -so i retrieved from storage for further investigation. I haven't burned any yet but did put it in a bucket of water to see if it would float or sink :Roflmao:

Yes cricketjeff is a tech hero and a good pal :)
Re the wood - still unidentified but it did sink straight to the bottom -but from what ive read (mostly on kyarazen's site and here too i think) - its not always as simple as that...
A friend suggested taking it to the Natural History Museum to see if they can perhaps help.
Ive taken some photos and was going ask if theres a section that might be appropriate to post them on the forum?

    Welcome to all 'new' ouddicts.
@Oudini I don't think anyone here would complain if you upload some wood photos here (or link). Or, anything to do with natural perfumes for that matter! The larger the file the better. :D

I may have overdone it with the photos, especially if its just bunk wood but oh well, at least I will know for sure.
Im waiting for them to upload to the site, posted in the 'photos' section on new thread :D

    thank you for the welcome.
ive collected fragrances for about 20 years now.
came to oud through designer then niche.
but since the mass watering down of most of them id sought to get my hands and nose on the real thing.
thus began my adventures in oud ..
