LMK Filipino chips on medium heat.
wallapatta from Alkhadra . Perfumey, spicy.
It's always a good idea to shake things up from oils to wood. Lovely
0.05 gram (yes not 05 but 0.05) like half a mustard seed of IO sulaweisi king at 80degrees cremaic heater = scent of an angel's wings ascending to heavens gate. how is this possible!!!
Day started with black sacra frankincense, followed by Mysore wood from @Royalbengalouds and now a small Burma chip from @Habz786 ...
Last night and today was filled with smoke from pine, birch trees (out camping). Now I'm back with a little bit of Thai Oud burning, from Royal Bengal Ouds. Absolutely stunning, nowhere near the fruity oils
Heated some Virgin Sumatran Sinking and some super Trat both from FO followed by some Assami Sallah from @Husen Khan @ Azman-Oud all while trying out some awesome oolong teas .... using the Gong fu cha method of preparation.
some Filipino Wood from dear @Habz786
@Sproaty .. you must have been reading my mind or maybe it was an urge that made me shave some of the sinking Borneo large chips from @Habz786 @ Habzoud
followed by some sinking Kalimantan from @Alkhadra @ Al Hashmi
FO’s 150 year old maysore sandalwood insence stick with some jade oolong tea
Quang Nam (Vietnamese red clay) incense stick from Taha.
Amazing, grounding incense. My favorite incense that I own.
What a coincidence, my pkg. from Kohgenworld arrived today. I’ve been lighting up some Vietnamese soil agarwood incense, quite pleasant, it’s their house brand Jinkai.
Been firing up the Kyukyodo Haru No Yama also, i’ve wanted to try it for many years now, it comes close to Akikaze, now I have all three scrolls.
Just made a purchase from a Chinese vendor.
0.5g of ‘Purple Kinam’
and 0.5g of ‘White Kinam’.
Haven’t heated it yet but I just wanted to share with you guys.
@Edward Muller whats the cost of these woods? Any scent at room temp?
It is under 300USD FOR 0.5g
Very very faint aroma. I also got the powdered version of the purple kinam.
That one is a lot more intense (relatively speaking - no where near as strong as the oils). It does remind me of some of the Ensar Kinams.
Just used my electric burner for the powder. It is quite a strong scent. At 200 C. That sharp kinamic scent found in Kinam Rouge and Purple Kinam is present. A slight creamy undertone. Had to turn it down to 180 C because they start to get a little too dark.
i am sure you know very well already, but honestly lowest of the lowest heat and a piece size of mustard seed or even smaller will be magic. this stuff gotta be preserved and rationed. magic! enjoy i have yet to try white kinam. love to hear your thoughts.
i actually go 60-90 degrees. max 150.
Thanks for the tips! I am gonna lower it down further ! Do you find the aroma too faint at lower temps? Like you need to lean in slightly above to get a whiff of it? I am afraid to use charcoal.. since I am terrible at controlling lower temp with that haha
Yeah the vendor recommended 0.01 g and a temp of 90-110 for powder and 100-120 for wood slivers. But creature of habit... I started heating the powder at 180...
