Welcome and Salam,

I discovered Oud around 2002-3ish and it took me till 2012 to get really hooked. I recently tried top quality musk and Ambergris oils and have really fallen in love with them.

Sandal wood has been my original love in terms of pure oil extracts and shavings from an expensive top quality buttery smooth woody pencil is still one of my favorite scents. I am looking to order some Lao shay oil on oudamber's recommendation.

I am also looking for online sources to directly procure fine woods at reasonable prices. Again I like monkoh but since hanging around with my Saudi friends in Australia, I absolutely adore the smell of an agarwood scented house.

I am thus looking for Indian, Thai, Indonesian, Malaysian cultivated wood sources as well as other natural aromatic gems.

I was hoping we could share that knowledge.

Ok so some of the cheaper sources for cultcultivated agarwood chips oud are as follows. these are not monkoh by any stretch but should leave a good aftertaste in the home, the way it is done in Arabia.

Would love to know if anyone has experience with the following sellers.

Mr B, my search engine and traffic tracking software leads me to this forum. You are 100% right as our cultivated Oud is not for Monkoh but its quality is still decent. As confidentiality, we could not tell you exact name of who import from us but many perfume house in Middle East.

We do have sinking grade Oud but it is too expensive to sell online and buyer would feel risky towards it. In addition, sink oud chips are subject to custom clearance and as they are wild, CITES is difficult to obtain as its source could not be verified (local hunters, no documentation).

That would be a good question to ask Selina.
There is a Mount Lao, Laoshan, it is a significant place associated with Taoism. There are different types of sandalwood, I guess that Laoshan is used to connote the aromatic type that can be used in incense. Indo Laoshan is the Laoshan type from India. As for Sinshan, I've got no clue.
