teeny tiny bit of maluku and malinau wood i begge taha (agar aura) for months to share with me, was the burn of the night.
maluku: innocent looking, pale, boring looking wood. on the ceramic heater at 150it goes and soon after dozens and dozens of tiny bubbles reddish in coloud come to the surface and release the scent of an angel's wings. damn fine wood. great deal of similarity to the maluku wood i procured from ensar (almahera 1996 harvest) but more floral and pretty.
malinau: oh my o my. first of 3 malinau woods i have tried to date that is truly worthy of the name malinau. malinau to me is nha trang, assam (real old school assam), pursat, pusong... is holly grail. the scent? thing B50k, think royal malinau. vanilla orange creamsicle, airy, pretty and chuck full of valentine's cinnamon heart candy. even if the alhashimi malinau i have in transit ends up being half as good as this, ill be a happy camper.
note: to date any and all wood i have procured from agar aura has be transcendental. take my word for it or dont (actually dont, more for me), if and when you may end up seeing a wood offered by taha, just jump on it like a fat kid on a candy bar. the guy is meticulous.
