My bottles sold at 62€, client told me I made the deal of my life you should charge higher

We are speaking about hindis buddy not about thai ! I did not smell your 62e oil but I know that Zak(AgarwoodAssam) sold his Manek for $65 or $70/3g
My advice next time charge your customers higher than that so you can be able to buy a Kaylani bottle :)

@Habz786 NOT TRUE please check the marketplace section Yunus sold for it's original price or a little bit higher and "also i think Zackariya is Burmese" TRUE but look after some really nice hindis like Hudhayl, Chamkeila (Assam) or some Manipur distillations like Meitei or Royal Imphal to come way cheaper than kaylani.
Agree with the rest of your post.

Huddhayl is a fantastic oil and cheaper true.
Metei is a fantastic oil at fraction price

Kaylani is a fantastic oil maybe wont be your taste as a 0 barn/funk hindi but modern art lovers/ monkoh practicioners would enjoy it for sure.

Oh or maybe the non barn modern distillation "à la Occidentale" are more expansive but wait no I am wrong....EO - Assam3000 $550/3g !

The magic ingredient makes Oud expensive. One that has to be imported from the land of Unicorns and Transformers. Its called MARKETINGOL. Lol. Just trying to cheer everyone up. Price depends on demand. Only one thing can level it COMPETITION. I am sure with recognition of other talented distillers things will get more accessible. That is the only solution.

@Nikhil S your words are gold !
My reaction is a little bit "rude" because I am quite surprised that some folks which shared my point of view regarding Oud prices in the past are suddenly singing and praising a nice hindi oil for sure on sale for $750/3g ...

Wow Nikhil... I'm truly stunned at your comment. You DO get it! Some vendors are better at marketing than others, but I've sampled Ouds from many vendors now and can see that there are many who have fantastic Ouds.

I used to limit myself to a single vendor due to his marketing genius, but have realised that there is a much bigger world out there with great Ouds at fair prices.

Sorry if i wasnt clear what i meant is if Ensar was to sell them on his website. I didnt mean private sales through forums there are many generous ouddicts here. Yes Zak has really brought out some gems at fantastic prices many of those if they were distilled today i'm sure would command higher prices, however infact as they are aged im sure Zak could have charged more for that aspect also. Again vendors operate as they wish and thats to their choice and advantage/disadvantage

Dear sirs. I am an Oud Devotee. For me its all about Oud talking to me. I dont care where it comes from and how special the story behind it is. I have left all those thought behind in my journey. Oud is like other hobbies too and it is also like other business. Reselling/marketing is a part of it. We as buyers also make quick judgement at times and sometimes get carried away by emotions. I have my respect for the sellers they do a massive amount of hardwork and they also have to spend for oils that go waste in experimenting. They get cheated too. Plus trust me its a matter of life and death esp in jungle areas. I know it very well. At the same time my concern is also with buyers who are loyalists. I dont think you can find more loyal fans of Oud outside these two forums. So my ultimate goal is to try everything and everyone. At the end I know not all distillers can make all regional profiles equal. X is master of sinensis y is master of hindi...etc. so I buy assorted stuff. I come here to relax and share my love for Oud. Evey discussion bring s new frontiers to my learning. But at the end of the day its hobby for me and livelihood for the sellers. And the only solution for price levelling in any walk of life is competition. Healthy and fruitful growth of all. Its not a Utopian thought at all. Why to sadden ourselves with unimportant arguments ? :) Oud out everyone. Just my 2 cents.

Some great points there Nikhil... And you summed up the reason why we launched Ouddict in two great points:

1. Your ultimate goal to try everything and everyone
2. Healthy and fruitful growth for all. It's not a utopian thought at all!

Indeed, oud does not have to be a zero sum game where someone has to win and another has to lose.

Hats off to you sir...

IO Fragrant Harbour. IO is a heavy momentum here. Sri Pada was darn good and today I am surprised again. I have no idea about this oil and that leaves the bias /expectations out. On skin application it has a peanut butter bitter fatty aroma. Then when I smudged it turned into a soft green scent with bitter herbal glow. Foresty minty soft green incense aroma of incense grade chips on soft heat. Then comes the wave of bitter rose sitting on a bed of powdery frangipani. The peak of inhale gives the boozy aspect of darkforest honey. The color progression was dull brown to yellowgreen to dullgreen finally a ruby red. Average longevity/intimate sillage/elusive airy hits. Salute the IO team. Supersolid release. I usually avoid such linear green oils. The complexity brought about in this oil is splendid. Like hints of lower SE regions and sinensis drydown.

Hello Nikhil, thank you for your comments. Also reading further down I see the beast of competition and fair pricing has arisen again. I think there is a step in the right direction from the new competitors now on the market offering lower priced oils, however people will buy what they want. As vendors we will put our products out there, some marketing will follow however it is upto the customer and their right to buy what they want. Education, sampling and experience will invariably open up paths however trying from trusted sources is the most secure option for newbies.
Also higher priced oils should be offering something unique to a consumer, the quality, experience, aroma have to be a step up from general oils to validate the pricing.

Also theres nothing wrong with praising an oil even if you feel its overpriced, its the smell which is the number one factor for me then the price! If an oil too expensive i settle with a sample and appreciate the scent as someone once said "the oils are innocent and human beings arent"

@Habz786 My dear sir. I have seen Unicorns and chatted with Harry Potter. Esp when I am at the peak on Kyara Inhalation. Its not a regular Kyara. I got it from a ming dynasty KohDo shifu who has the gift of immortality. All I had to was tell him where he could find Kalakassi 150 at wholesale price. Trust me.

@Faizal_p Absolutely brother. The pleasure is the ultimate goal. See I am no expert or an Oud Shifu. I just seek olfactory pleasures in your creations. Be it 1000 dollar Kyara oil or 100 dollar oil. Everyone wants to have the best for affordable prices. Its a dilemme for both sellers and buyer. Its nice to see you guys doing your best to maintain equilibrium. For me as a buyer I set my purchase limits. I dont dream beyond that. Practicality is king. I only seek God s light to take me to each experience. Step by step. Its more fun that way. And my goal on YouTube is to make authentic perfumery popular. Thats all

Thank you brother. Thanks for your kind words. Its just that I see real world pain too much on a daily basis. I want to contribute positively to these forums. And take back something nice as well. Other thing I swear I am really deep with my understanding of the Oud trade. How where and who. I choose to ignore it all. And stay with the sweet smoke of Oud. Cheers.
